Grietje lived in Belgium with her beautiful white cockatoo, Marni. She was a bird lover and treated Marni like her family from the beginning. While she was pregnant, the adorable bird would always stay by her side.
Marni would sit on her swollen belly as if he was helping her hatch the egg. He was curious about her pregnancy and would sit near the baby crib. He would lay on his back and wait for his daily dose of tickles.
However, this changed a bit after baby Rémi was born. The bird saw that the baby was also getting a lot of attention and love and thus became very jealous.
So Grietje got Marni involved when the baby slept. Gradually, Marni realized that he should not be jealous of the baby and became close to him. The bird had now found a new friend in Rémi.
Grietje also brought a lot of parrot-themed toys so that the baby grew fond of the cockatoo. Moreover, she made sure that the baby knew how to treat Marni. Soon the two of them became inseparable.
During the last holiday, Grietje, Marni & Rémi went on an adventure trip to Switzerland. Grietje had planned to visit many more countries in the future. The baby even shared his food with Marni.
Marni always watched over Rémi like an elder sibling. Marni & Rémi share a brotherly bond now. Cockatoos can live up to 80 years, and Grietje is happy that her baby has now got a friend for a lifetime and can live with Rémi one day.
