A video of a man popping his own infected fingernail is going viral (video below).
According to Your Nation News, a man in Scotland had grown tired of waiting for his fingernail infection to heal on its own, so he took matters into his own hands. The man waited for the infection to heal, but it continued to grow, causing the tip of his finger to swell up.
Rather than seeking treatment from a medical professional, the man decided to take care of the issue on his own, using a needle to pop the infected area. He filmed the process of popping his infection and the video is not for the faint of heart.
In the video, the man pokes the infection with the needle and green pus comes out. He wiped the pus with a napkin before squeezing his finger again. As he continued to squeeze, pus continued to come out. By the end of the video, though the man had squeezed out quite a bit of pus, his infection was still visible.
It is not clear what happened after the video, but one can hope that he saw a doctor for proper treatment.

"I did not see if this guy used any rubbing alcohol on his needle first," one user wrote. "I did not see him pour any rubbing alcohol over the infected finger. I did not see this guy put on any sterile gloves first. I would like to know if it healed up?"
"My son just has something similar. We had the doc pop it. She decided to culture it, and it was STREP! I've recently seen reports of ppl loosing extremities from it; so it is not something to mess with," another user wrote. "My son will loose his finger nail."
"I'm a nail biter and I have drained them myself numerous times. But in the early stages," another viewer commented. "This is very bad and he needs to see a doctor."
