This man took her dead baby’s crib and did something with it that shocked her. I couldn’t believe it.

In Minnesota a pregnant woman experienced a tragedy.
Valerie Watts was extremely pregnant. For months, there were no complications at all. On her ultrasound, Noah, her unborn baby, appeared as fit as a fiddle. Valerie was full of joyful anticipation, patiently awaiting the birth of her son.

But just a few days before the birth, Valerie noticed that the baby inside of her had become very still. She drove to the hospital immediately. The doctors determined that the umbilical cord had become blocked. The little Noah could not be brought alive into this world.

Valerie mourned for a long time for her son. She even set up a small memorial to him at home. She could not bear to separate herself from the unused baby crib, for it was almost the only thing of his that remained.

Several days after the tragedy, Valerie held a garage sale to sell old things.

Gerald Kumpula, a talented handyman saw the baby crib. He asked if he could buy it.

Valerie didn’t want to part with it. After telling the nice man her sad story, she took heart and gave the crib to Gerald.

Gerald was so touched by Valerie’s story that he decided to give her a special gift. He went into his workshop and rebuilt the crib.

Out of the crib, he made a wonderful bench seat. He drove to Valerie and gave it to her. She was so touched that she broke down in tears. After the unused crib had provided for so much sorrow, the piece was given new life as a symbol for a life that remembers the past but looks forward.
