This Is What Happened When I Started Washing My Face With Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is one of those things I always keep in my home. It has numerous positive health benefits when used on the skin and consumed as well. For the skin, its acidic compounds help prevent the growth of fungus and bacteria, which is exactly why I began using it as a face wash.

The first thing I noticed was that more pores looked cleaner and my skin just felt better. This is likely a result of ACV’s acidic nature. It doesn’t allow acne to develop and can even balance the pH of your skin. This is especially useful if your skin is oily or dry.
Additionally, my skin looked younger. This is likely the result of Alpha hydroxyl acids removing dead skin cells. It works similarly to other chemical skin peels except, well, no burning chemicals are on your face.
The smell of ACV is pretty strong, which is why I always make a watered down version, 1 part ACV and 3 parts water. Usually it only takes 1 tablespoon of ACV and 3 tablespoons of water. You can water it down more than that though. The benefits will still be there for you.
Once done washing your face, wipe down with a warm, wet washcloth and then pat dry with a dry cloth. Repeat up to twice a day.
