This is Jenna Brousseau with her 9-week-old daughter, Harper. The previous night, she had to face one of the most difficult experiences that could befall a young family.

Duke was rescued from a shelter and adopted by the Brousseau’s 6 years ago. Since then, he’s been a faithful companion and an attentive dog. But that night…
… something unimaginable happened: little Harper was sleeping in her crib, with Duke sleeping nearby on the floor. Suddenly, he noticed her breathing irregularly before eventually ceasing.
With the inner certitude that something was wrong, he burst into the parents room and jumped on the bed until they woke up.
With no time to spare, he guided them to the baby’s room. Harper was already starting to turn blue from asphyxiation. Her parents feared the worst and immediately called an ambulance.
Thankfully, Harper escaped death. But her real savior is Duke. Let’s give credit where credit is due.
