Trump Gives Bad News To Inauguration Day Rioters

A majority of those who rioted after the inauguration of President Donald Trump got a dose of reality when they were arrested and charged with crimes that could land them in jail for 10 years.

Thousands rioted after Trump's inauguration, prompting the arrest of more than 230 people. Those individuals were charged with felony rioting - which could potentially land them in jail for up to 10 years and see them paying a $25,000 fine.

Right before the inaugural parade began, riot police and protesters began to clash and fights soon broke out. People subsequently started breaking into stores and looting, smashing cars and even setting a limo on fire.

"Groups of people started gathering around the limo. There was a sense of something going to happen. People were shouting 'it's going to blow'. We tried to move them back," Daily Mail reporter Katie Hopkins told the site.

"The inauguration parade for the president is just blocks away from where all this is happening."

SWAT police moved into the area and started pepper spraying rioters, which led to the arrest of 217 people initially. Those people were kept overnight and then appeared before a judge.

"The charge is rioting, police chief Peter Newsham told reporters. "Our intention going into this event was to make zero arrests, and unfortunately they forced our hand."

Many readers applauded Washington, D.C. police for arresting the rioters.

"I am so happy to hear these scum bags are finally becoming accountable - leave them in jail and charge them to the highest. start reparation by laving these thugs clean up the mess they made," one Mad World News reader commented on the site's Facebook page.

"This lawlessness CANNOT be allowed to continue! The former administration looked the other way and actually condoned this type of behavior. America needs to get back on the lawful track and severely punishing these thugs will be a great start!" another added.

Others criticized former President Barack Obama for failing to penalize rioters in the past.

"This lawlessness CANNOT be allowed to continue! The former administration looked the other way and actually condoned this type of behavior. America needs to get back on the lawful track and severely punishing these thugs will be a great start!" one reader wrote.
